Safety and Compliance Engineer

Job Purpose
Vueling is looking for a “Safety and Compliance Engineer” who will be part of Vueling Maintenance and Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be the champion of Safety and Compliance procedures in the CAMO.
The role will be focused on identifying Risks, performing assessments and with the help of other department, implementing actions. They will interface with corporate Safety Teams, and participate in cross department meetings and will be a person who drives change and improvements to the Safety Culture. The Role will liase with the Quality department for EASA Part CAMO requirements. They will be a focal for the Maintenance Leadership Team on Quality reporting and change management (Management of Change and SMS procedures). The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) and oversee process and procedural documentation system for the entire CAMO
This role will report to the Technical Director and will attend regular Management Staff meetings.
Main Accountabilities
- Accountable for Safety Performance Measures and Actions.
- Accountable for Root Cause identification and follow up.
- Accountable for Communication of Info Notices as follow up actions.
- Accountable for Technical Documentation accuracy and access.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
- Daily Monitoring of Safety/Significant Events for follow up actions
- Identification of Risks to the Maintenance organization and assement of those
- Root cause analysis and corrective action plan for Safety and Quality findings (in partnership with business Function owner/Manager)
- Authoring and tracking of Information Notice and other alerts on technical or process findings.
- Management of CAMO Manuals and Other Documents in a centralised database.
- Routine reporting and briefs on technical issues to Maintenance and Engineering Leadership team.
Main Relationships
- Maintenance and Engineering Leadership.
- Part 145.
Education
Ideally:
- EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) PART-66 CAT-B1* or CAT-B2*.
- Or Aerospace Engineering Degree (other Technical Degrees will be considered).
Experience
- 2 years relevant work experience in aviation, preferably in maintenance control.
- Ability to work independently on projects and work collaboratively with teams within Mainatcne and Engineering, and across departments.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to follow through experience operating successfully in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Timetable flexibility and availability, ability to travel and occasionally work off hour shifts.
