 Job Purpose

Flight Operations projects Specialist is responsible of managing some of the key transformation projects within the flight operations area. The projects include EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) implementation and administration, new operation approvals required for operation and other digitalization projects. 

The main function is to be the PMO of these transversal projects and coordinate them with all the different stakeholders and departments. It also includes interaction with AESA to coordinate the appropriate approvals and audits.

Main Accountabilities

• Management and development of transformation projects within the flight operations area that helps improving our operation and our pilots’ tasks.
• Design and plan the different phases of the projects to be implemented.
• Coordinate with all the relevant departments and stakeholders all the tasks to ensure the success of the projects.
• Analyze regulation applicable to the scope of the project to take into account all the requirements needed to implement it.
• Creation of processes and procedures required for the implementation of the project.
• Drive internal and external (CAA/IOSA) audits, responding to the auditor’s requests being able to provide the required evidences.
• PMO of future phases of EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) project, which consists on the total digitalization of documentation in the aircraft:
• Lead, plan and coordinate the next digitalization phases of EFB with all the departments involved.
• Set up of test phase with a reduced number of pilots to test new applications and functionalities.
• Creation of procedures and trainings to be implemented.
• Present project to AESA and deal with all the authority’s requirements to obtain the approval.
• Functions in the EFB Administration organization:
• Coordination of recurrent tasks within EFB Administration, sub-administrators and IT. E.g: test and installation of a new software version in the EFB.
• Constant contact with flight crews about daily incidences related with EFB or improvements of the system.

• In coordination with the rest of flight ops teams, build pillars for the establishment of processes to beat efficiency and robustness targets.
• Ensure all the processes and projects implemented always fulfill the safety standards stablished by the company. Constant coordination and revision of SPI (Safety performance indicator) with Safety department.

Education

Aeronautical Engineering Degree (required).

Experience 

• Previous experience in project management (PMO) tasks (required).
• Previous experience within flight operations department at an airline or similar (desired).

Competencies 

• Technical documentation writing capabilities (required).
• Planning and managerial capabilities (required).
• CAA formal communication and submissions for approval (required).
• Vba Programming (desired).
• Advanced knowledge of Office tools (required).
• High communication skills and proactivity (required).
