 Job Purpose

The Business Data Analyst provides analytical support across the Crew Planning Department for strategic decision-making with a clear understanding of the vision and objectives to reach.

The Analyst will report directly to the Optimization Supervisor, while helping coordinate the tasks needed to implement the centralization of Crew Planning Digital Transformation.

Main Accountabilities

As a Business Data Analyst, you will be accountable for:

• The liaison with various stakeholders in the crew planning department to comprehend and interpret the business needs and translate them into BI/analytics/reporting requirements.
• You understand and challenge requests for new operational KPIs, create own dashboards, provide dashboard drafts incl. example calculations of KPIs and offer meaningful insights during contract negotiations on the impact of new KPIs.

Main Responsibilities - Tasks

• Is responsible for the definition, development and maintenance of indicators, analytical models, dashboards and tools for tracking and managing the department.
• Standardize key concepts for Crew Planning KPI’s structure, gaining consistency and simplifying quality control.
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate documentation around Business Intelligence solutions and systems.
• Communicate in an effective way the definitions and new developments to the main stakeholders.

• Identify business challenges and initiate process improvement projects.

Main Relationships

• Collaborate with Communication and Standards, Rostering, Strategy and Crew Control to build scalable processes and metrics.

• Work closely with data department for the development of dashboard and tools.

Education

• Preferred: Degree in Engineering, Economics, Math, Bachelor or Similar.

Experience 

• At least 2 years’ experience in the airline industry (preferred in crew related areas).

Competencies 

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (specially Excel and Power Point).
• Advanced communication and teamwork skills.
• Good coordination and organizational skills.
• High analytics and problem-solving skills to make decisions based on data.

Languages 

• English: B2.

Other 

• Knowledge of database’s structure design, and able to handle large datasets (SQL).
• Knowledge of BI Software (Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, etc.).
