Flight Operations senior projects specialist is in charge of giving support to some of the key transformation projects within the flight operations area. The projects include a completely redesign of EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) implementation and administration, new operation approvals required for operation, new aircraft inductions and other projects. The main function is to be the Project Manager of these transversal projects and coordinate them with all the different stakeholders and departments.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
Assisting engineering work units in the coordination of the rest of operational areas such us training, compliance or safety and external organizations such as the new aircraft manufacturer, suppliers or CAA
Adhere to the risk assessment and mitigation actions plan to comply with is stated in OM and associated standards approved
Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues
Enhance constant communications establishing a daily, weekly and monthly basis of governance meetings to assure that Flt OPS – Training & Safety/Compliance are aligned and roll with functions assigned
Keep CAA and suppliers constantly engaged to respond on time and to not delay the project phases
Ensure a communication bridge between the technical areas and the stakeholders by understanding in-depth all the tasks.
Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards
Lead the overall EFB redesign for a completely new aircraft type with the specialized team of engineers. Surgically analyze and establish a plan to adapt a plan that usually requires 2 years in a challenging scenario of 1 year
Support the coordination of the project.
Set up of test phase with a reduced number of pilots to test new applications and functionalities.
Creation of procedures and trainings to be implemented.
Ensure all the processes and projects implemented always fulfill the safety standards stablished by the company. Constant coordination and revision of SPI (Safety performance indicator) with Safety department
Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing and summarizing relevant information
Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution
Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget
Coordinating the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the clients
Identifying and developing new opportunities with pilots
Obtaining customer acceptance of project deliverables
Managing customer satisfaction within the project transition period
Conducting post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements
ERP project oversight
Drive internal and external (CAA/IOSA) audits, responding to the auditor’s requests being able to provide the required evidence.
Aeronautical Engineering Degree (required)
Previous experience in engineering/operations project management (PMO) in airline positions (at least 3 years).
Previous experience in EFB (Electronic Flight Bag)
CAA formal communication and submissions for approval (required)
High communication skills and proactivity (required)
