The Head of Commercial Insights will play a central role in the Commercial, Customer, Network & Strategy (CCNS) Team. He/She will challenge the team to maximize its contribution to Vueling’s profitability, by providing detailed and actionable insights into revenue and cost performance, setting ambitious but achievable targets, and measuring and reporting performance against those targets.
Providing insights to the CCNS team on revenue performance and identifying drivers of over- and underperformance across routes, markets, sales channels, customer segments, etc.
Reporting commercial performance to key stakeholders, including Vueling’s CEO and Management Committee, as well as the broader IAG group.
Delivering a challenging but realistic revenue and cost forecast for the CCNS organization.
Acting as the single source of truth for revenue and sales data.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
Monthly reviews of route level performance.
Analysis of key performance drivers.
Recommendation on improvement actions.
Follow-up on implementation and tracking of impact.
Weekly reporting to Vueling Management Committee.
Monthly in-person presentation to CEO and CCNS leadership.
Weekly reporting to IAG.
Forecasting and Budgeting process:
Annual and quarterly revenue forecasting.
Analysis and consolidation of CCNS budget requests.
The Head of Commercial Insights and his/her team work closely together with all teams in the CCNS department and its leaders, in particular Revenue Management, Network, Ecommerce and Sales. They also function as a trusted source of insights for the Chief CCNS Officer.
Outside of the CCNS department, the Head of Commercial Insights works with Vueling’s Data team as well as the Finance organization. Externally, he/she will work with the IAG strategy team and data suppliers.
University degree - required.
MBA - desired.
5+ years of experience in Finance, Strategy or Consulting roles, airline industry experience preferred.
Very strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Excellent teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable communicating across all levels of the organisation.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive decisions towards specific outcomes.
Ability to manage multiple projects or deliverables simultaneously, set priorities and manage time and resources accordingly.
Basic understanding of airline performance metrics and drivers.
Fluency in English.
