Ancillary Pricing Business Owner
As a key member of the ancillary pricing team, you will use data to develop and implement next-generation price optimization models, aiming at maximizing revenue, while mitigating costs.

Job Purpose
As a key member of the ancillary pricing team you will be responsible for utilizing data to maximize revenue for Vueling’s diverse portfolio of ancillary products, while mitigating costs. In this role you will focus on developing and implementing next generation price optimization models and supporting analytics. You will work with members of the ancillary product, revenue management, data science, digital and distribution teams to continue executing on ancillary growth for the airline.
Main Accountabilities
Synthesizing disparate data to maximize the performance of á la carte and bundle products including:
- Analyzing pricing structures for products to ensure they are performing as expected and finding new opportunities.
- Performing frequent analysis on the pricing elasticity of different routes and customer segments in Vueling’s network.
- Testing and implementing new pricing strategies to improve total revenue in a highly competitive market.
- Investigating opportunities to integrate machine learning and real-time data integration into the ancillary pricing portfolio.
- Providing ongoing analytical reporting and distillation of key results for commercial team as well as leadership.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
- Improve revenue for ancillary products.
- Work with revenue management, data engineers, data scientists, digital and distribution to improve product pricing strategy.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to gain insight into customers’ purchase behavior.
- Develop product and customer centric analytics utilizing cluster analysis, collaborative filtering, and randomized elasticity testing.
- Work with members of the ancillary team to provide insights that drive further refinement of the ancillary product portfolio.
- Support forecasting efforts for ancillary revenue and loyalty teams to drive total revenue.
Main Relationships
Work with a variety of teams to ensure revenue optimization, including but not limited to:
- Ancillary product owners.
- Revenue Management and Pricing.
- Data Engineers and Data Scientists.
- Digital.
- Distribution.
Education
- University Degree - Ideally in statistics, mathematics, finance, economics, operations research, computer science, or some combination of the above.
Experience
- Ideally commercial airline industry experience.
- Relevant revenue management, data analytics and/or A/B testing 2 years experience.
- Experience with machine learning models, SQL, Python, JSON and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Demonstrated understanding of economics and airline (or related) commercial metrics.
- Ideally, exposure to technologies such as Amazon Redshift and Navitaire PSS.

- An adept problem-solver driven by facts and analytics. Eager to structure data-driven analytical approaches to solve business problems.
- Ability to efficiently summarize analytic approaches and products and present insights and actions to upper management.
- A strong work ethic, innate curiosity and readiness to take initiative to drive positive results.
- Proven ability to independently perform quantitative analysis and model development.
- Comfortable working self-sufficiently or with a team to creatively solve analytical challenges with limited data.
- Flexible and agile in a continuously evolving business environment.
- Has the potential to grow into broader and more senior roles within the organization.
