Aircraft Powerplant Engineer

Job Purpose
The Vueling Engineering and Maintenance is currently recruiting for a Powerplant Engineer to join their team based on our Barcelona office. The role will be a multi-functional role responsible for Aircraft Engine technical control and management. You will report to the Powerplant Manager under the responsibility of the CAMO.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
- Provide a detailed review of Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives relating to Engines, APUs and Nacelles.
- Manage implementation programs of modifications to Engines, APUs, Nacelles and accessory parts.
- Providing technical support to MOC (maintenance operations center) and Heavy Maintenance Representatives .
- Support of Reliability section in the identification and resolution of repetitive failures across the fleet.
- Engine Heath Monitoring (EHM) control and oversight.
- Liaising with OEM’s on a resolution of reliability and technical issues.
- Generation of operator documents (MEL Technical Notices, Procedure Notices, Engineering orders, reports etc.).
- Provide technical support to aircraft lease returns.
- Work scoping and invoice review of Engine and APU shop visits.
- Management of Engine Shop visit schedules, costs and MRO relationships.
- Management and technical control of large LRU assemblies (Landing Gear, APUs, Nacelles, Thrust Reversers, etc).
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
- Engineering Degree in Technical Field (may be replaced by working experience directly with Engines/Powerplant systems with an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer certification).
Experience
- At least 5 years of working experience in Airline/CAMO/Part 145 Engine or Aircraft maintenance or OEM/MRO facilities.
Competencies
- Technical knowledge of Engine and/or Aircraft Mainatcne or repair and overhaul.
- A320/Airbus family of aircraft preferred
- CFM/V2500/PW GTF Engine experience preferred
- Familiarity with EASA Regulations
- Flexible approach with project delivery is a high priority.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both in-person and by electronic means.
- Computer literate, with a working knowledge of AMOS and Microsoft Software Programs [Word, Excel]
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong attention to detail in multi-tasking situations and the ability to deliver results to tight timelines.
- Ability to support off-hour airline operational requirements
