Job Purpose
We’re looking for a Flight Operations Analyst to manage pilot records, training schedules, and performance data. The role involves ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, supporting operational planning, and collaborating with multiple departments to optimize flight operations.
Main Accountabilities
- Ensure accurate records for contract levels and eligibility to fly to specific airports, maintaining up-todate pilot profiles.
- Provide insights on pilot performance for use in operational planning and training requirements, ensuring pilots meet necessary standards.
- Facilitate real-time monitoring and reporting of pilot activities, enabling management to make informed decisions based on comprehensive data.
- Ensure pilots receive required training and are scheduled appropriately, enhancing their readiness and compliance with flight regulations.
- Determine contract levels and facilitate a smooth onboarding process, ensuring new pilots meet company standards.
- Prevent scheduling conflicts and maintain operational safety, avoiding regulatory penalties.
- Enhance data accuracy and reporting capabilities, providing robust support for decision-making processes.
- Keep all relevant parties informed, facilitating coordination and alignment across departments.
- Maintain accurate and current data, ensuring smooth transitions and operational readiness.
- Analyse trends, identify areas for improvement, and enhance future operational procedures.
- Ensure seamless implementation and training, maximising the effectiveness of new technologies.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date overview of key performance indicators, enabling informed decisionmaking and operational efficiency improvements.
- Identify trends and provide insights into diversions and return-to-stand cases, contributing to proactive management and enhanced operational reliability.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
- Monitor and validate pilot flight hours and certifications.
- Analyse and categorise pilot performance data.
- Develop and maintain data dashboards for operational performance.
- Coordinate with Training and Roster departments to manage pilot training schedules.
- Handle recruitment data for new pilots, including validating and processing flight hours and certifications.
- Ensure compliance with flight time regulations and monitor pilot duty times.
- Support IT in the development and maintenance of data analysis tools.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding pilot performance and categorisation updates.
- Update pilot escalation and preferences based on their status, such as leave or base transfers.
- Maintain records of operational incidents and responses.
- Facilitate the integration of new data systems and tools.
- Conduct monthly KPI control, monitoring performance metrics related to flight operations.
- Prepare a monthly report on diversions and return-tostand incidents, analysing the underlying causes and patterns.
Main Relationships
- Training Department: To coordinate necessary training and categorisation updates for pilots, ensuring they are adequately prepared for their duties.
- Roster Department: To ensure pilots are scheduled according to their certifications and operational needs, optimising flight schedules.
- IT and Data Team: To develop and maintain dashboards and data analysis tools, enhancing data accuracy and usability.
- Recruitment and HR: To validate and process flight hours and certifications for new pilots, facilitating their onboarding and ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Flight Operations Management: To provide performance data and support decision-making, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
- Ground Operations: To coordinate logistics and manage any operational issues that may affect flight schedules and pilot performance.
- Compliance and Legal Department: To ensure all operations adhere to aviation regulations and company policies, preventing legal issues and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Aviation Management
Experience
- Minimum 1 year: Experience in an operational or logistics role within the airline industry.
- Proven experience in collecting, analysing, and interpreting complex operational data related to flight operations and pilot performance. This includes developing and
maintaining data dashboards that provide actionable insights. - Experience in collaborating with various departments such as Training, Roster, IT, and HR. This is essential for ensuring smooth operations and effective communication
across the organisation. - Familiarity with the systems used for managing airline operations, including flight
scheduling, pilot rostering, and performance tracking. - Experience in managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are
delivered on time and within scope. This includes developing business cases,
planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of projects
Competencies
- Familiarity with operational procedures and the specific requirements of managing
flight crews. - In-depth understanding of how airline operations function, including the intricacies of pilot scheduling, categorisation, and performance management.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools such as Tableau, Excel, and other dashboard creation tools. This knowledge is crucial for developing, maintaining, and interpreting data dashboards that support operational decisions.
- Thorough knowledge of aviation regulations concerning flight time, duty periods, and pilot rest requirements. Ensures compliance and prevents legal and operational
issues. - Understanding the processes involved in certifying pilots, including categorising their qualifications and experience levels. This is critical for accurate scheduling and
ensuring pilots meet the necessary standards for various types of flights. - Knowledge of best practices and procedures for monitoring and improving pilot
performance, ensuring operational efficiency and safety
Languages
English C1, Spanish C1, Italian or French are desirable but not mandatory.
