Job Purpose
Oversee, enhance, and optimize aircraft performance data and procedures within the Flight Operations department, adhering to safety, operational guidelines, and regulatory requirements, to ensure optimal aircraft performance, safety, and cost efficiency.
Main Accountabilities
- Ensure all changes in airport data, such as runway distances, elevations, and obstacles, are accurately identified and communicated to the next level for impact evaluation.
- Identify and relay only the relevant NOTAMs that affect aircraft performance, ensuring critical temporary changes like runway closures or added obstacles are addressed promptly.
- Ensure all changes in airport procedures, approach paths, and noise abatement procedures are correctly implemented, maintaining accurate and up-to-date navigational charts
- Analyze and update terrain data, identifying any potential false alerts and ensuring that all aircraft have the most current and accurate terrain information to prevent accidents.
- Determine the deterioration of aircraft engines by analyzing performance data, ensuring fuel consumption is accurately adjusted and communicated to relevant departments.
- Ensure pilots have up-to-date performance data in their OPT Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), allowing them to make accurate calculations based on current conditions.
- Evaluate the operational impact of obstacles and procedural changes, ensuring that aircraft can safely and efficiently operate under new constraints.
- Ensure pilots have clear, updated procedures for emergency scenarios, such as engine failures or rapid descents, enhancing operational safety.
- Incorporate maintenance data into performance calculations, ensuring that any recent engine cleaning or part replacements are reflected in the performance assessments.
- Assist in creating and validating new performance-related procedures, ensuring they are robust, compliant with regulations, and effectively improve operational efficiency.
- Provide essential technical support during peak periods, ensuring that critical tasks related to aircraft performance are handled without delay, involving stepping in to resolve complex issues and maintaining operational continuity, preventing any disruptions that could impact flight safety or efficiency.
- Ensure that new team members are thoroughly trained and confident in their roles by creating and maintaining up-to-date training materials, answering technical queries, and guiding them until they reach full competency, and help ensure that the department operates smoothly and efficiently as new staff members integrate into the team.
- Ensure the company’s performance procedures remain cutting edge by attending international workshops and integrating the latest industry innovations and standards, enhancing the operational efficiency and safety of the company's flight
performance systems.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
- Oversee the analysis of daily airport data differences.
- Process and categorize NOTAMs (Notice to Airmen).
- Update and validate cartography data every 28 days.
- Manage the GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System) database.
- Calculate monthly performance factors for all aircraft types.
- Validate and maintain OPT software weekly.
- Perform and report on performance impact assessments.
- Prepare contingency procedures and updates for performance manuals.
- Manage the performance factor graphical analysis and reporting.
- Liaise with maintenance for updates on engine washes and changes.
- Be the trainer and mentor for new team members, ensuring the creation and updating
of all necessary technical material, and supporting them with any technical questions
that may arise until they gain expertise. - Attend various international workshops related to Performance with the aim of ensuring that the ongoing procedures are the most up-to date and advanced.

Education
- A degree in Aeronautical Engineering or similar is required.
- In-depth understanding of aircraft performance principles, including take-off and
landing calculations, engine performance, and the impact of obstacles and
environmental factors on flight operations. - Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in aviation,
ensuring all performance procedures and calculations adhere to safety regulations
and guidelines. - Proficiency in using Flight Bag systems (e.g., FlySmart) and electronic flight operations tools
- Expertise in using performance calculation software
- Familiarity with statistical methods and probability analysis
Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in an airline's engineering or flight operations department is required, and experience specifically in a performance engineering role.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting performance data and trends for identifying impacts on operational safety and efficiency.
- Hands-On experience working with GPWS data, including identifying false alerts and assessing their impact on flight operations.
- Involvement in project management activities, particularly those related to performance data validation and software updates
