Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Maintenance Supplier Management, the Engines & APUs Supplier Manager is responsible for managing and developing relationships with suppliers of aircraft engines and APUs within Vueling’s fleet. The role ensures the acquisition of goods and services in this category achieves the objectives of reducing total cost of ownership and mitigating supplier risks, while continuously improving quality, service, and technology.
Additionally, the position provides key support to the Power Plant team of Vueling and IAG, leading cost-saving initiatives, supplier negotiations, and continuous improvement projects across the Engines & APUs category.
Main Accountabilities
- Define and lead the negotiation strategy with Engine and APU suppliers, aligned with company priorities and ensuring competitive, value-driven conditions in the short, medium, and long term.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, ensuring continuous cooperation, innovation, and technology development.
- Coordinate steering committees with critical suppliers, defining periodicity and ensuring alignment on performance, cost, and innovation goals.
- Advise operational departments on contract terms (inclusions, exclusions, and pricing) applicable to engines and APU services.
- Identify potential claims with suppliers in collaboration with technical teams and lead negotiations for favorable resolution.
- Provide performance-based input into contract renewals and budget preparation for the Engines & APUs category.
- Define, coordinate, and implement risk identification, assessment, and mitigation processes for Engines & APUs suppliers.
- Report risks, mitigation plans, and supplier performance assessments to senior leadership.
- Work closely with the Technical Director, Head of Engines, and all maintenance departments to align objectives on cost reduction, performance, and operational safety.
- Provide inputs to Finance, Control, and Maintenance teams in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to Engines & APUs.
- Collaborate with IAG TRANSFORM, Heads of Category, and Business Partners to track the progress of initiatives and savings achieved.

- Area budget and cost management: manage the budget of his area in a cost focus way.
- Project Management: Ensures the development of assigned projects in an timely and quality manner.

- Business Unit Directors, Head of and Managers, Finance Business Partners, CFO, COO, Director/Head of Vendor Management, Administration and Legal departments and IAG GBS Procurement.

- Engine & APU Categories Suppliers, Lessors, Aircraft, Parts, Engines Manufacturers
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier management, procurement, or category management within the aviation industry.
- Proven experience in airlines, aircraft maintenance (MRO), lessors, or engine suppliers.
- Strong track record in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization.
- Knowledge of AMOS and aviation maintenance systems is desirable.
- Experience working in cross-functional, international teams.
- Knowledge of aviation contracts, or operational efficiency practices.
