Job Purpose
Strategically coordinate, schedule, and monitor the execution of all long-term and heavy maintenance activities for the fleet within Vueling, according to regulatory requirements, seasonal operational constraints, and organisational priorities, to ensure efficient maintenance operations, compliance, and maximum aircraft availability.
Main Accountabilities
- Provide MRO partners with well-defined, detailed work packages, enabling efficient, compliant, and accurate maintenance execution.
- Produce comprehensive maintenance schedules that meet organisational goals, adapt to fluctuating operational needs, and uphold regulatory standards.
- Maintain alignment across departments, promoting seamless coordination in maintenance and minimising the risk of unforeseen delays.
- Generate data-driven, adaptable maintenance scenarios that optimise fleet availability and accommodate operational demands.
- Minimise the impact of unexpected delays, ensuring efficient resource use and adherence to regulatory standards despite operational challenges.
- Ensure continuous oversight of maintenance execution, enabling swift intervention and correction where necessary.
- Support MRO partners in resource planning, thereby reducing the risk of delays and maintaining the integrity of the maintenance schedule.
- Maintain operational legality and uphold Vueling’s regulatory standards by guaranteeing that all maintenance documentation is accurate and thorough.
- Maintain efficient workflows, reducing potential delays or errors due to misinterpretations of maintenance protocols.
- Keep the maintenance schedule on track by rapidly implementing adjustments based on on-site insights, thereby minimising delays.
- Ensure that the necessary parts and components are available in a timely manner, preventing downtime due to supply chain issues.
- Fulfill the mission of the job if it is in the employee’s hand.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
- Create and manage detailed work packages for major maintenance tasks by following internal standards and MRO requirements, ensuring each task aligns with Vueling’s operational and regulatory needs.
- Coordinate and align with internal departments (such as Operations, Fleet, and CAMO) and external partners to gather input on operational needs, seasonal variations, and regulatory demands affecting maintenance plans.
- Update and communicate long-term maintenance plans regularly to both internal stakeholders and MRO providers, fostering a shared understanding of scheduled maintenance activities and ensuring timely adjustments.
- Develop and evaluate alternative maintenance scenarios using predictive analytics and fleet management tools, identifying solutions that address specific challenges or constraints.
- Monitor and address potential deviations in the maintenance schedule due to unforeseen issues such as material shortages, providing alternative scheduling or task reallocation as needed.
- Collaborate closely with on-site CAMO technical representatives to monitor ongoing maintenance tasks at different MRO locations, offering immediate support and adjustments as necessary.
- Manage resource allocation for all long-term and heavy maintenance tasks, ensuring MRO partners have the required workforce, materials, and equipment for optimal task completion.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements by managing and reviewing documentation, coordinating with MRO partners, and implementing regulatory updates into maintenance plans.
- Address any technical queries from MRO providers regarding maintenance procedures by collaborating with internal experts or external contacts for clarification.
- Continuously adapt maintenance plans based on real-time feedback from on-site CAMO representatives, modifying work packages as needed to prevent schedule disruptions.
- Act as a point of contact with suppliers for critical components, especially in cases where material availability might impact maintenance timelines.
- Perform any other responsibility or function that is assigned inherent to the job.

- Operations Directorate: Aligns fleet availability with maintenance schedules to meet operational demand.
- Fleet Department: Informs long-term fleet needs and availability to optimise the maintenance schedule.ç
- CAMO Technical Representatives: Provides on-the-ground insights from MRO locations, facilitating real-time schedule adjustments.
- Supply Chain Department: Coordinates the availability of materials and components essential for heavy maintenance tasks.
- MRO Providers: Executes maintenance work based on provided work packages and ongoing updates; serves as a primary partner for compliance and scheduling.
- Regulatory Authorities: Ensures all maintenance activities meet legal and regulatory standards through documentation and procedural adherence.
- Component Suppliers: Supplies necessary parts and materials, working closely with Vueling’s supply chain to meet critical timelines.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering
Experience
2+ years of experience in long-term maintenance planning within an aviation setting,
with prior exposure to heavy maintenance scheduling and coordination of work
packages for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facilities.
