Job Purpose
Plan and coordinate short-term, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks for Vueling's fleet within the operational maintenance framework, adhering to aviation regulations and guidelines, in collaboration with the Operational Control Centre (OCC), to ensure all aircraft are airworthy, resources are optimally allocated, and maintenance tasks are timely executed, thereby preventing operational disruptions.
Main Accountabilities
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are accounted for and rescheduled appropriately to maintain operational efficiency and aircraft airworthiness.
- Provide clear, comprehensive maintenance plans that facilitate timely and efficient maintenance execution.
- Ensure that maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently and resources are optimally utilized, and ensure the strategic positioning of aircraft to facilitate maintenance
tasks without disrupting operational schedules. - Prevent any maintenance-related operational disruptions.
- Maximize productivity and ensure timely task completion.
- Enhance operational efficiency and teamwork.
- Prevent delays in maintenance activities and ensure tasks are completed within set deadlines.
- Ensure high-quality maintenance work and adherence to safety standards.
- Enrure an optimized maintenance schedule that aligns with operational needs and maintains fleet readiness.
- Provide expert planning insights to ensure that unscheduled maintenance tasks are integrated into the overall maintenance schedule without impacting aircraft
availability. - Fulfill the mission of the job if it is in the employee´s hand.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks
- Manage the replanning and authorization of the assignments for maintenance tasks that were not performed as scheduled.
- Compile daily maintenance work packages for each aircraft, including scheduled and unscheduled tasks.
- Manage the routing of aircraft to specific bases for maintenance tasks, taking into account the available resources and requirements of each base.
- Track the completion of maintenance tasks within the prescribed time frame and ensure compliance with aviation regulations.
- Allocate daily maintenance tasks across the maintenance team, ensuring an even distribution of workload and effective use of personnel.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, such as operations and technical services, ensuring coordination and support for maintenance planning activities.
- Guarantee the availability of all necessary resources, including materials, tools, and personnel, to carry out maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Monitor the execution of maintenance tasks, addressing any issues that arise to ensure tasks are completed correctly and efficiently.
- Evaluate and adjust maintenance schedules based on aircraft usage patterns, unexpected repairs, and regulatory changes, minimizing downtime and ensure that
maintenance activities do not disrupt flight operations. - Support the MOC Engineers and Fleet Support Engineers teams in preparing work orders for non-scheduled maintenance.
- Perform any other responsibility or function that is assigned inherent to the job.
Main Relationships
- Operational Maintenance: Closely collaborates with the Operational Maintenance department to ensure maintenance tasks align with operational capabilities and standards.
- Operations Department: Regular communication with the Operations Department is crucial to coordinate maintenance planning with flight schedules and operational requirements.
- Technical Services: Coordination with Technical Services is necessary for accessing technical guidance, aircraft
maintenance records, and to ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and standards. - Materials Department: Interaction with the Materials Department is essential for securing the required parts and materials for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
- AOG (Aircraft on Ground) Team: Coordination with the AOG team is vital for addressing urgent maintenance needs that could ground aircraft, requiring immediate action to minimize operational impact.
- Purchasing and Material Returns: Collaborating with Purchasing and Material Returns departments to manage the procurement, use, and return of maintenance materials and parts efficiently.
- External Maintenance Providers: The planner works with external maintenance providers (MROs) across different stations, ensuring they meet Vueling's maintenance standards and schedules.
- Aeronautical Engineering Degree or EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency certification for Aircraft Maintenance Technicians.
- Strong Knowledge in Aviation Maintenance Regulations
- Depth Knowledge in Aircraft Systems and Operations
Experience
- 0-2 years of experience in aviation maintenance planning
- Desirable educational experience in aircraft related projects.
